Hello,
My name is Špela, and I am a children’s book illustrator and character designer from Slovenia. I believe that every story deserves its own magical image. As a child, I spent countless hours with colored pencils, brushes, and books. I drew, created my own worlds, and admired illustrations that told stories even before I could read.
Because of dyslexia, I have always experienced the world through colors, shapes, and feelings. This unique perspective now allows me to create illustrations full of imagination and life.
My artistic journey began in the small town of Senovo, and today I happily create in Ljubljana, bringing characters and worlds to life that spark curiosity and smiles in both children and adults.
What I Do
With extensive knowledge of KDP publishing, layout design, and typography, I make sure that every book comes to life from the first idea to the finished page. Every project is an opportunity to create something special, illustrations that not only catch the eye but also connect emotionally with readers.

I am especially proud of Betaquatro and the Time Capsule, a book created with consideration for children with special needs, available in both Slovenian and English, which will soon be published by a traditional publisher.
My Style
My style combines digital techniques with the warmth of traditional media. With vibrant colors, gentle textures, and attention to detail, I create worlds that children love to revisit.
I also manage the entire book creation process, from page layout to typography, ensuring that every project is polished, cohesive, and professional.
